Updated for Season 10 · September 2026 · last reviewed
S10 is live — no end date announced yet
Season 9 of Marvel Rivals ended on 3 September 2026 — NetEase's own announcement that day opened with "Season 9 has come to a close". Season 10 has not started yet: it is expected on 11 September 2026. This page is the permanent season tracker: current dates, exactly what the seasonal reset does to your rank, what to do before and after each tick, and how long the climb back takes — updated every season, with every claim sourced.

Season 10 start date
Season 9 ran from 10 July 2026 to 3 September 2026, with the Season 9.5 mid-season update on 7 August 2026. NetEase confirmed the close itself on 3 September.
Season 10 is expected on 11 September 2026 — the date NetEase put on the Season 9.5 roadmap published with Dev Vision Vol. 20 on 5 August 2026. It appears on the roadmap graphic rather than in the article text, so we carry it as expected and not confirmed. NetEase has not announced a Season 10 end date, a mid-season 10.5 date, or a start time of day. We update this page the moment any of that is official.
What happens to your rank at a new season
Since Season 5 (November 2025), Marvel Rivals no longer applies the old flat division drop. Instead, every full season starts with 10 placement matches: the system gives you a predicted rank and your first ten competitive games calibrate it against how you actually play. Your hidden matchmaking rating carries over untouched — which is why early-season lobbies feel much sweatier than the badge next to your name.
The predicted starting point lands roughly one to two tiers below your previous finish — NetEase tunes the exact setback each season rather than publishing one permanent number. Players who finished in the highest tiers (Celestial and above) are seeded into placements around Grandmaster. Two things do NOT happen: you never get wiped to Bronze, and mid-season updates (the ".5") do not reset ranks — placements run once per full season.
Before the tick: what to do at season's end
End-of-season rewards lock to the highest rank you reached during the season, not where you finish. Season 9's window closed on 3 September, so whatever you banked is banked. The same rule applies again from Season 10's first day: the weeks before a season closes are the highest-value ranked games you can play, and one more tier banked is a permanent reward. When that deadline comes round and you're short on time, the final push is also the single most popular moment for a rank boost.
After the tick: the climb back
When Season 10 opens, its 10 placement matches set your starting point for the season. Because placements re-seed you below your peak while your hidden rating stays put, the early-season grind is a re-climb through your own skill bracket — most returning players need dozens of games to get back to their previous badge. Use the calculator above for your exact range, check where your current rank places you, and if you'd rather skip the re-climb entirely, the boost option shows a real price and ETA for the same journey.
Season history
Season 9 ("The Mystery of Thebes") ran from 10 July 2026 to 3 September 2026, with the Season 9.5 mid-season update on 7 August 2026; it followed Season 8 ("Sins of Alchemax", June 2026). Marvel Rivals seasons run in two halves — a full season launch and a mid-season update (the ".5") roughly four weeks in that brings balance changes and new content but no rank reset. NetEase has not published a name or theme for Season 10. We log each season's dates here as they close, so this page doubles as the ladder's historical record.

Frequently asked questions
It is expected on 11 September 2026. That date comes from NetEase's Season 9.5 roadmap (Dev Vision Vol. 20, 5 August 2026) rather than a written announcement, so treat it as expected, not confirmed. Season 9 ended on 3 September 2026 — NetEase said so in its announcement that day.
Yes, via placements: every full season starts with 10 placement matches that seed you roughly one to two tiers below your previous finish. Your hidden matchmaking rating carries over, and mid-season updates (the ".5") do not reset anything.
No. Placement matches run once per full season. Mid-season updates bring balance patches and content, but your rank and points stay exactly where they are.
It depends on your win rate and how far the placement seeding set you back — typically dozens of games. The calculator on this page gives a range for your exact from→to, next to the boosted alternative's real price and ETA.
Your highest rank reached during the season. That is why the pre-reset weeks matter most: every tier you bank before the tick is a locked-in reward, even if you slip afterwards.
