Season 30 dates

Season 30 started on 4 August 2026 at 17:00 UTC, the moment Season 29 (Overclocked) closed — Apex rolls seasons over with no downtime. Respawn has not announced an end date; on the game's long-running three-month cadence the season is expected to end in early November 2026, with Season 31 starting the same day. We update this page the moment the date is official.

What happens to your rank at a new season

Season rollover brings a soft reset, not a wipe: nobody is sent back to Rookie. Respawn has retuned the exact formula repeatedly over the years, but the recent pattern is consistent — lower tiers restart near the floor of their own tier, while Diamond and above are set back into Platinum, so the top of the ladder re-earns its badge every season. Your hidden matchmaking rating carries over untouched and steers where the reset seeds you, which is why the first weeks of a season feel much harder than the tier next to your name suggests.

One thing the reset does not change: RP entry costs still scale with tier (free in Rookie, then rising from 10 RP in Bronze to 90 RP per game at Master), so every tier you were knocked down also makes each game cheaper to enter — the ladder is deliberately fastest right after the tick.

Before the tick: what to do at season's end

Ranked rewards — badges, weapon cosmetics and dive trails at the top — key off the highest rank you reach during the season, and they lock the moment the season ends. That makes the closing weeks the highest-value ranked games you can play: one more tier banked is a permanent reward. If you are short on time, that final push is also the single most popular moment for a rank boost, and season-locked badges are exactly what our badge boosting service exists for — both are hard-deadline items.

After the tick: the climb back

Because the reset seeds you below your previous finish while your hidden rating stays put, the early season is a re-climb through your own skill bracket — most returning players need dozens of games to get back to their old tier, and the entry-cost curve means mistakes get more expensive the higher you go. Use the calculator above for your exact from→to range, and if you would rather skip the re-climb entirely, the boost option shows a real price and ETA for the same journey — popular routes like Platinum IV to Diamond IV spike hardest in the first post-reset month.

Season history

Season 30 (Marked) follows Season 29 (Overclocked, May–August 2026). The ranked calendar still runs in two halves per season: at the mid-season split your RP takes a soft reset — Master and Apex Predator players are set back furthest, while Platinum and below keep most of their RP — and the full soft reset lands at the seasonal rollover. Respawn had not announced Marked's exact split date at the time of writing. Marked itself ships a full Bloodhound rework, a World's Edge update and an energy-weapon overhaul, which is worth knowing because big meta shifts always make the first post-reset weeks the most volatile ranked window. We log each season's dates here as they close, so this page doubles as the ladder's historical record.
