What percentage of Marvel Rivals players are Diamond? Is Platinum actually above average? This page answers exactly that: the full Marvel Rivals rank distribution for Season 9, converted into plain-English percentiles. Find your tier in the table and the right-hand column tells you what share of the ranked population you sit above.

One honest caveat before the numbers: NetEase publishes no official distribution, so the figures below come from RivalsTracker's sampled dataset (~975,000 PC players, July 2026). Tracker samples skew toward engaged, active players — the true population is likely somewhat more bottom-heavy than this table suggests. It is still the best public dataset available, and we cite one source only rather than blending.

What your rank actually says about you

Marvel Rivals' ladder has an unusual shape: a quarter of all ranked players sit in Bronze, yet the mid-ladder is unusually wide — Diamond and Grandmaster together hold over 30% of the population, far more than in most competitive shooters.

  • Silver already puts you ahead of a quarter of the ladder — the tier starts at the top ~74% line.
  • Gold is top ~65%: comfortably above the Bronze mass.
  • Platinum is top ~52% — the statistical middle of the ranked population.
  • Diamond is top ~39%: above average, but far more common than its reputation suggests.
  • Grandmaster is top ~23% — about one ranked player in four gets there.
  • Celestial is top ~8%: the genuine elite band begins here.
  • Eternity is the top ~1.5%, ranked purely by points with no divisions.
  • One Above All is the live top-500 leaderboard — roughly one player in a thousand.

If the gap between where you are and where these numbers say you could be feels like a time problem rather than a skill problem, a Marvel Rivals rank boost covers the grind with the stats to show for it.

What is the average rank in Marvel Rivals?

By this dataset, the median ranked player sits in Platinum — the 50% line falls just inside the tier. That makes Marvel Rivals' "average" noticeably higher up the tier list than in games like R6 Siege or CS2, for two reasons: the seasonal placement system re-seeds returning players well up the ladder rather than at the bottom, and tracker samples over-represent committed players.

Practically: calling Diamond "mid" is wrong — it is a top-~39% rank — and Grandmaster, which the community often treats as ordinary, is a top-~23% achievement.

Methodology and where these numbers come from

The percentages are RivalsTracker's sampled Season 9 distribution (~975,000 PC players, retrieved 16 July 2026). The cumulative percentiles ("this tier or higher") are computed directly from those shares; nothing on this page is estimated or extrapolated by us.

Two limits worth knowing. First, NetEase publishes no official distribution, so every public table — ours included — is built on sampled tracker data that skews toward active players. Second, the sample is PC-only; console distributions may differ. For how the ranked system itself works — divisions, points, the Chrono Shield, seasonal placements — see the full Marvel Rivals rank guide, and for current season dates see the Season 9 tracker.
