What are Guilds in Dota 2?

Dota 2 is an online video game whereby you battle other players in an online arena. Playing games is a fun period for many, but what could make this even better? Earning rewards! Many games offer rewards for completing certain challenges and levels.

Dota 2 is a game that offers guilds. The purpose of guilds is to provide a method for different players to come together, finish contracts, as well as earn Battle Points and Guild Points. It is a feature that many people participate in and enjoy. If one thing is clear, it is that Guilds are here to stay. Keep reading to find out everything you need to know about guilds and how you can make the most of them.

What is a Guild?

Players can form guilds to socialize and gain access to extra rewards. A guild can only be created by Dota Plus members, but all players can participate in them. Each guild has a unique name, tag, and profile picture. These can be viewed in the lobbies and scoreboards. Guilds can hold up to 50 players and are automatically disbanded when the last player leaves the game.

There are currently over 300,000 guilds that have been created. You can find new high-level guilds to join. You can do this by integrating your rank, public access, and a member count below 50.

How Do Guilds Work?

Guilds work with the use of points. A tally is given every week on the leaderboard of the top players. Your rank is determined by your guild points. This is what determines the weekly rewards of shards. Special perks are also given to guild members. You can earn double the number of points if you are a Dota Plus player. Existing guild points decrease by a certain percentage on a weekly basis. This occurs so that new guilds can catch up to existing guilds. New guilds still have to work hard, though, as the existing guild points do not disappear completely, thus, still giving them a chance to be the leaders.

How do you earn points? Points can be acquired by:

  • Playing games within the guild. You are going to receive more points if you play with people who are guildmates.
  • Complete the guild tasks and challenges given to you.

What are Guild Contracts?

A guild contract is a quest that players can participate in and complete to earn points and shards. Each player receives one contract a day; Dota Plus players get two deals daily. The difficulty of the contracts also varies. They are rated from level one to three, three being the most difficult. The higher the level of difficulty, the more rewards you are going to receive.

The Bottom Line

Guilds are set in place to incentivize players during their online gaming sessions. There are different ways to take advantage of guilds in Dota 2. Make the most out of your gaming session and earn rewards for having fun. It is time to take your Dota 2 progress to the next level.
