Commit Your Life in Playing Counter-Strike
If you wish to be a pro of Counter-Strike, the first tip that we can give to you is to commit your life in the game. It can also lead you to miss out the things happening in your real life. “There are a lot of things you will miss out on if you want to become pro like parties, being with friends, and even the possibility of having a girlfriend. Not only is time a requirement, but you also have to be skilled and be able to work in a team environment,” as stated by Asger Larsen, an SK Gaming expert.
He also added that talent is much more necessary compared to time. “It's all about how talented you are for the game. Some people will need a lot of time to make it big, while some can manage it in just a few years. The best way to practice to become a professional player is to play in a competitive environment against people on the same level or a level above you, so you learn something.”
Think that You are the Top and Knowledgeable Player
For you to be a professional Counter-Strike gamer, you need to think as if you are already an expert. You need to do the things you don’t even do for your past gaming experience. As stated by Andreas, one of the expert players of Counter-Strike, “Go to local LAN events, be competitive and attend small tournaments online.” “Just by being serious about it, you'll have a better chance: often it's not the organizations that recognize you but the other players.”
“The best way for new players to prove themselves is indeed by playing a lot and attending local LAN events. If you show you are able to improve and work within a team there is a good chance that a better team will pick you up sooner or later,” Asger said agreeing to the idea of Andreas.
Make Your Regular Schedule to Practice
The two Counter-Strike professionals say that a regular schedule to practice Counter-Strike online gaming is just like having a full-time job. They advised that for you to be a professional player, you need to play at least 5 hours every day. “For us, it's five days a week of practice, which mostly takes place from 5-11pm. We spend this time looking into other opponents and playing practice games against other teams,” they added.
Asger also stated that his schedule will always vary upon the upcoming events. He stated that “Last year when we practiced for Dreamhack Winter 2014 we would start around 5 pm and continue until around 2 am every day. For a normal practice session, we'd start at around 6 pm or 7 pm and continue until midnight.”
